CNBC reported on the early morning of the 30th Beijing time that Daniel Ives, an analyst at FBR Capital Markets, said on Tuesday that next year could be a make-or-break year for Apple. In an interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box" program, he said: "I think Apple's heyday is over. Not only in terms of price-to-earnings ratio, or the price that investors want to pay, but also in terms of products. Apple launched a smartwatch, but it failed to succeed; the development of TV streaming services has been suspended." The company also launched its latest smartphones — the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus — in late September, and there are rumors that a new generation of iPhone 7 will be released sometime next year. "This is a make-or-break, high-tension period for Apple," Ives said, adding that the iPhone 7 needs to sell well for Apple to be successful. Apple's stock price has fallen about 2.5% this year and more than 10% in the past six months. In the past few weeks, many Wall Street institutions have predicted that iPhone sales performance in 2016 will be very bleak. Their general view is that iPhone sales growth will be weak and far less strong than this year.
