Apple releases seventh developer beta of iOS 12

Apple releases seventh developer beta of iOS 12

In the early morning of August 14, Apple released the seventh developer beta of the iOS 12 operating system. The last developer beta was released in the early morning of August 7, exactly one week ago. If you are a developer and have a developer account, the complete firmware packages of the new beta versions of all operating systems can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center.

Of course, for devices that are already in the developer beta version, if the correct configuration files have already been installed, the system can also be updated directly through OTA.

The build version of the seventh developer beta of iOS 12 is 16A5354b, while the previous sixth beta was 16A5345f.

As in the past, the focus of the seventh developer beta of iOS 12 is still on fixing common bugs and improving performance. There are no very obvious new feature improvements, so some improvements in details compared to the sixth developer beta, especially subtle adjustments to the interface and functions, whether performance has been optimized, how is the battery life, etc., still require in-depth experience to discover.

According to the iOS 12 Developer Beta 7 update log released by Apple for developers, some of the relative new changes are as follows:

- The Group FaceTime feature for multiple people to chat at the same time has been removed, and this feature will not be available when iOS 12 is officially released. Apple said that Group FaceTime will be launched as an update of iOS 12 "later this fall."

- Some methods that allow children to bypass Screen Time's app restrictions have been cut off, and after upgrading to the new beta, Apple recommends that parents change the Screen Time password to prevent children from removing restrictions by signing out of iCloud or changing the system time.

- A bug has been reported in iOS 12 beta 7 that may prevent Apple Pay from working. Apple recommends retrying Apple Pay or restarting the device to fix it.

Anyway, any beta version of iOS is still in the testing stage as its name suggests, and in most cases the running effect may not be as ideal as the official version, and may even be extremely unstable or lose data, so if your device is your main device for daily use, it is recommended not to try it out. But if you are very interested in beta testing, or this is not your main device, it is best to back up important data before trying it out.
