Artificial intelligence may cause more than 2.4 million Japanese to lose their jobs by 2030

According to foreign media reports, scholars from Japan's Mitsubishi Research Institute believe that Japan's active use of artificial intelligence technology will lead to a reduction of 2.4 million jobs in Japan in 13 years.

According to statistics, the use of robots and artificial intelligence technology will create 5 million jobs by 2030. At the same time, as robots replace manual labor, the demand for manpower in traditional fields will decrease by 7.4 million people, and therefore 2.4 million Japanese will lose their jobs, according to local Japanese TV reports.

The biggest loss will be in the manufacturing sector, where robots will replace 1.5 million people. The second largest loss will be in accounting and statistics, where artificial intelligence machines will cause 720,000 professionals to lose their jobs. Smart devices will cause 670,000 people to lose their jobs in the construction sector.

But experts are optimistic that the aggressive use of AI-equipped devices will balance Japan's ongoing population decline, while those who fail to master the new technology risk losing their jobs.

Japan's current population is approximately 127 million.

Scholars predict that the use of artificial intelligence high technology and robots will increase GDP by 0.6%, exceeding 50 trillion yen (about 434 billion US dollars) by 2030.
