Recently, Volkswagen CEO seemed to be unable to sit still and fought back on Tesla CEO Elon Musk's home turf. Musk, who disbanded his public relations department, naturally has Twitter as his home turf.

At the age of 15, Volkswagen Group CEO Herbert Diess posted his first tweet on Twitter, saying that Volkswagen is catching up with Tesla in the electric vehicle market and has already surpassed the latter in the European market, winning the favor of more consumers.

Diess wrote in a tweet: "Hello Twitter! I am here to make an impact with the Volkswagen Group, especially in politics. And, of course, to take more market share from you @ElonMusk. After all, our ID.3 and e-tron are already winning in the European market. Looking forward to more fruitful discussions!"

The 62-year-old Diess may have just been joking with the 49-year-old Musk when he wrote this tweet. The two have maintained a good relationship for many years. Musk also publicly tweeted in September 2019 that Volkswagen CEO Diess has done more in electrification than any traditional car company.

Last September, when Musk inspected the construction progress of Tesla's local super factory in Germany, Diess also invited Musk to test drive his own ID.3 electric car.
