NSA cracks German Chancellor's encrypted phone again

German media reported that the US National Security Agency (NSA) can still monitor the phone calls of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Germany's Bild am Sonntag quoted intelligence experts as saying that the NSA has cracked the password used by Merkel's encrypted phone calls. Last October, Düsseldorf-based company Secusmart produced 2,500 encrypted phones for the German federal government to ensure that there are no loopholes in the security network. A spokesman for the company said that the encryption code can block any attack on the network. Former NSA employee Edward Snowden previously revealed that the NSA had been monitoring Merkel's phone calls for many years, which triggered the German investigation.
