Li Xiang no longer insists, Ideal Auto plans to launch pure electric models in 2022

As one of the three major new car-making forces in China, although Ideal Auto has also gained great recognition in the secondary market, tracing back to its roots, Ideal is not a pure "electric car" manufacturer, and this has often become a criticism of Ideal Auto by some "electric fundamentalists".

Now, Li Xiang's Ideal Auto does not intend to continue like this.

Recently, an insider of Ideal Auto revealed that the company is planning to launch a pure electric vehicle. According to the current plan, if nothing unexpected happens, the relevant model will be launched in 2020 and will go on sale in 2023.

Ideal Auto later released a statement confirming the rumor. However, according to Ideal, its pure electric model is still under development and the final launch date has not been determined. Considering the long development and testing cycle of the car, the launch time of Ideal Auto may be later than planned.

According to official news from Ideal, a total of 14,656 Ideal ONEs were delivered from January to August 2020, of which 2,711 were delivered in August, a month-on-month increase of 10.88%. This shows that Ideal Auto's existing business is still very healthy. It is unknown whether Ideal's pure electric models can continue the outstanding performance of Ideal ONE.
