It is said that the poor sales of iPad are related to the increasing size of mobile phone screens. Now, Pocket, a read-later app with tens of millions of users, has released data showing that users who bought large-screen phones rarely use tablets.

Pocket collected data from more than 2 million users who used its app on both iPhone 6/6 Plus and iPad and found that iPhone 6 Plus users chose iPhone over iPad 80% of the time when browsing articles and videos saved offline in Pocket, and this ratio was nearly two-thirds on iPhone 6. Back then, iPad and iPhone 5s were equally popular.

Do you like to watch videos on your phone? Users of large-screen phones are so capricious. After upgrading to iPhone 6 plus, the number of users who watch videos on their phones has increased by 40% compared to iPhone 5s.

In addition, large-screen users are reluctant to put down their phones and pick up iPads on weekends. iPhone 6 plus users' iPad usage time dropped by 31% on weekdays and 36% on weekends. The proportion of iPhone 6 users is even more disparate, with 19% on weekdays and 27% on weekends.

The only battlefield where the iPad maintains a winning rate is the 9 o'clock in the evening - this means that people still like to lie on the sofa or bed with a larger screen iPad and watch late night canteen. Many previous studies have shown that the main usage scenario of the iPad is at home.

According to IDC, global tablet sales soared in 2013, up 52.5%, but may fall back to 7.2% this year. iPad sales have also slowed down. According to Apple's second quarter financial report, iPad sales in the quarter were 16.4 million units, while iPhone sales were almost three times that.

Four years after its launch, tablets are still fighting for their existence.
