US operators announce 5G commercial download speeds of up to 10GB per second

Today, Verizon Communications announced that it will provide 5G services to some users in 11 cities in the United States in the first half of this year.

According to reports, these cities include Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Seattle and Washington, where Verizon will provide "pre-commercial services."

Compared with the current 4G network, the speed of 5G network can reach at least 10 times that of 4G network, and up to 100 times. The number of device connections supported is at least 100 billion, and the download speed can reach 10GB per second.

In addition to Verizon, AT&T also said in January this year that it will test its 5G network in Austin, Texas in the first half of the year.

It is worth mentioning that China Mobile recently stated that it will carry out large-scale 5G field experiments this year, hoping to achieve trial commercialization of 5G in 2018 and realize nationwide 5G commercialization in 2020.
