OSC Open Source Year-End Ceremony Successfully Held

The Open Source China Community (OSC) 2014 Source Creation Conference ended on November 23 at the Beijing Marriott Hotel. More than 1,500 open source technology enthusiasts attended the conference, which is the largest number of attendees in domestic open source technology conferences to date. The conference focused on the development, use and contribution of domestic open source software. Well-known domestic IT companies such as Alibaba and Huawei showed us their participation and exploration results in the open source field.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ma Yue, CEO of Open Source China Community, gave a speech entitled "The Ambition of Open Source China", in which he talked about the development history and future development direction of the organizer Open Source China, and focused on introducing the concept of open source collaboration and the Team collaborative development platform launched by Open Source China based on this concept.

Yu Feng (nickname Chu Ba), a top technical expert in China from Alibaba, shared Alibaba's practical experience in building the RDS relational database service using open source software. RDS (Relational Database Service) is a ready-to-use, stable, reliable, and elastically scalable online database service with multiple security protection measures and a complete performance monitoring system. It also provides professional database backup, recovery, and optimization solutions, allowing users to focus on application development and business development.

Huawei's open source evangelist Mr. Ou Jianshen shared Huawei's research results on global open source software. He deeply analyzed the industry development trends from the four perspectives of business strategy, technology layout, ecosystem, and R&D efficiency, and introduced Huawei's understanding of open source technology and trend judgment.

The three sessions in the afternoon were: cloud computing, database and integrated technology. Hosted by authoritative technical experts in their respective fields, the sharing topics included: sharing by open source software authors, enterprise open source practices, security, and the development trends, application cases and architecture of the world's leading open source software.

The OSC Open Source Year-end Ceremony is also the 30th Open Source Innovation Conference held by the Open Source China Community. Through these offline exchange activities, the Open Source China Community has deepened everyone's understanding of open source: open source is not only the open source code, but also a decentralized collaborative concept.
