ModMy announced today that it has archived its default Cydia source ModMyi. ModMyi is a well-known jailbreak Cydia source and the App Store of the jailbreak community. iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices can download applications, themes, plug-ins and various files. ZodTTD/MacCiti was also shut down last week, which means that two of the three major Cydia repositories have stopped service. ModMy recommends jailbreak community developers to use the BigBoss repo. BigBoss is already the only Cydia repo. As fewer and fewer users are paying attention to jailbreaks recently, the two major Cydia repositories were eventually shut down. After jailbreaking, users can obtain root permissions for the file system, install applications on their own, and modify the iOS system.
When the iPhone and iPod touch were released in 2007, jailbreaking became very popular because users could install apps and modify the system. At that time, Apple had not yet launched the App Store, and jailbroken users could install their favorite apps. At that time, iOS had very few functions, and even the wallpaper could not be changed. With the help of jailbreaking software, users can change the wallpaper freely. In the following years, jailbreaking has also been popular because it can provide lock screen widgets, multitasking, screen recording, picture-in-picture mode, and keyboard-to-trackpad functions. However, these functions were later added by Apple to the iOS system. Currently, iOS 11 is the only major system update that has not been jailbroken. Are you still interested in jailbreaking? |
