Android mobile chip rankings released, Snapdragon 835 is not number one!

Recently, a ranking of Android mobile chip performance in the third quarter of 2017 was released, including the combined performance of CPU and GPU. Currently, Android mobile chips mainly come from Qualcomm and MediaTek. However, in recent years, some smartphone brands have begun to independently develop their own chip products in order to further reduce costs. Among them, Samsung's Orion and Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin are the representatives, and they are currently developing well. Xiaomi Technology, a representative of high cost performance among domestic brands, has also begun to launch its own Pinecone processor, which also indicates that more mobile phone brands will launch their own chip products in the future, but most of them should only be supplied to their own products.

Although MediaTek and Qualcomm are classic brands in the mobile chip industry, with the gradual acceleration of technological development, MediaTek has begun to decline and will not be able to catch up with or surpass Qualcomm's Snapdragon series processors in a short period of time. In the list provided by Master Lu, the first place in CPU+GPU comprehensive capability is the HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor. This annual flagship chip launched by Huawei is supported by AI artificial intelligence and is indeed not inferior in performance, while the comprehensive performance of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 can only be ranked second.

In the single evaluation of CPU performance, although Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 defeated HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor with a slight advantage, it lost to its own Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor by a large margin. HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor opened up a large gap in GPU performance and firmly sat in the first place.

However, AI is definitely the development trend of the future, and as the world's leading processor chip brand, it is only a matter of time before Qualcomm adds AI. Huawei's chip technology will naturally continue to improve, but it may take some time for the performance of many Android chips to catch up with Apple's A series.
