For this reason, Apple reached a settlement with Qualcomm last year, and Qualcomm also said after releasing the Snapdragon 865 chip at the end of last year that it would do its best to help Apple launch 5G-enabled mobile phones. It can be predicted that with the help of Qualcomm, the 5G performance of Apple mobile phones will not be weaker than the latest Android flagships, and the overall strength of the baseband it uses will also be higher than the Snapdragon X55.

Of course, it is possible that Apple will directly adopt the Snapdragon X55 chip. After all, from a hardware perspective, the Snapdragon X55 baseband supports both millimeter wave 5G and 6GHz band 5G, which is the 5G chip with the widest coverage. However, the only drawback is that the 6GHz band 5G network connection performance of the phone is "hot". In the absence of millimeter wave 5G networks in most countries, the new iPhone 5G function advantage will be greatly reduced.

In addition, whether the new iPhone 5G phone can integrate the processor and 5G baseband is also a big question. Previously, Qualcomm said that because the millimeter wave 5G baseband is too large, the Snapdragon X55 baseband can only be plugged in, which will undoubtedly cause the mobile phone chip module to become larger and occupy too much internal space. In order to ensure that the phone is fully functional, the body can only be thickened to expand the space, and the grip and appearance of the phone may be greatly affected.

However, the core competitiveness of the new iPhone will still be far ahead of other brands. The iPhone 12 series released this fall will be equipped with Apple's A14 processor. It has been confirmed that the chip will be built by TSMC and will be the first to use the 5nm process. The performance of the mobile phone chip will be significantly improved compared to the previous generation, while the power consumption will be reduced.

While the A13 processor is still comparable to the Snapdragon 865 chip, the Apple A14 chip, which has undergone a significant performance upgrade, is expected to become the world's number one processor.
