Why do "singing gods" always appear in bathrooms? | Science Museum

Bathing is important to everyone.

It’s something that needs to be done frequently.

Some people think that taking a bath can relax the body.

Make people happy,

But for some people,

Taking a bath is a boring and tiring task.

So make sure you have some fun when necessary!

Some people like to watch TV series while taking a bath.

Some people like to listen to crosstalk.

What Pang Ke likes most and can’t help himself is singing!

And Fat Ke was surprised to find that

The me singing in the bathroom is simply

Empty and beautiful, full of breath,

A perfect combination of a singing god and a microphone master!

As a professional popularizer,

Now that we have discovered the clues,

How could it not be solved?

today,

Let's follow Fatko to explore it together

The reason why singing in the bathroom sounds better~

first,

When you take a shower, a lot of steam is generated.

The bathroom space is relatively closed.

People will experience hypoxia to a certain extent.

When people take in a lot of oxygen,

The blood circulation will speed up.

The vocal cords will relax.

I can now sing the high notes that I couldn't normally sing.

Doesn’t it sound nice?

Secondly,

The bathroom is a relatively private space.

This greatly enhanced my confidence when singing.

I am very bold in singing and I am not likely to get nervous and sing out of tune.

in addition,

The bathroom was steaming.

It moisturizes the throat very well.

Make the sound softer~

In addition to the above convenience factors,

The bathroom itself is also a great place to sing!

It probably edits the sound in two ways:

Volume and reverb.

volume

Generally speaking, the floor and walls of the bathroom are decorated with hard tiles. The tiles are very hard and almost completely rigid to sound waves, so they absorb very little sound waves. Most of them are reflected back, and then the reflected sound waves are transmitted again, and then reflected again after contacting the hard tiles, and the cycle repeats, reflecting back and forth in the small space of the bathroom until they are completely absorbed. The existence of these reflected waves increases the intensity (volume) of the sound, making our voices sound more powerful.

reverberation

When sound waves propagate indoors, they are reflected by obstacles such as walls, ceilings, and floors, and each reflection is absorbed by the obstacles. In this way, when the sound source stops making sound, the sound waves will be reflected and absorbed many times in the room before finally disappearing. We feel that there are still several sound waves mixed and continuing for a period of time after the sound source stops making sound. This phenomenon is called reverberation (the phenomenon of sound continuation that still exists after the indoor sound source stops making sound), and this period of time is called reverberation time. Therefore, reverberation makes the sound sound richer and fuller to a certain extent, and it will not be as "dry" as when singing normally.

Reverberation also exists in concert halls, theaters, auditoriums, KTVs and other places. It can help adjust the pitch to a certain extent. Even if the singing is slightly out of tune, it still sounds completely ok. Therefore, the microphone masters in KTV are immersed in their own singing, which is also partly due to the reverberation!

After reading the above introduction,

Fat Ke just wants to say one thing,

Although the bathroom is not a millionaire tuner,

But one hundred thousand is more than enough!

But I still want to remind you,

Singing is OK.

But you must not disturb others!

at last,

What do you like to do in the shower?
