At 14:22 on July 24, the Long March 5B Yao-3 carrier rocket carrying the Wentian laboratory module ignited and launched on time at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in my country. About 495 seconds later, the Wentian laboratory module successfully separated from the rocket and entered the predetermined orbit. The launch was a complete success.

The reporter learned from the China Manned Space Engineering Office that this is the 24th flight mission since the implementation of my country's manned space program. The Wentian Experimental Module launched is the second module of the Chinese space station and the first scientific experiment module. The Wentian Experimental Module consists of a working module, an airlock module and a resource module, with a takeoff weight of about 23 tons. It is mainly used to support astronauts' stay, extravehicular activities and space science experiments. It can also serve as a backup for the Tianhe core module to manage the space station.

Subsequently, the Wentian laboratory module will rendezvous and dock with the core module assembly according to the predetermined procedures, and the Shenzhou 14 astronaut crew will enter the Wentian laboratory module to carry out their work.

The carrier rocket and Wentian experiment module that carried out this launch mission were respectively developed and manufactured by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology and the China Academy of Space Technology, both of which are affiliated with the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
