On January 13, Li Muhua from Xi'an Railway Bureau Travel Service Media Co., Ltd. told reporters that this train departed from Xi'an and was a customized train with the theme of "Qinling Ice and Snow Tour". The train was equipped with special function carriages. In addition to the mahjong table in the video, the train was also equipped with KTV, cinema, massage chairs and other entertainment facilities. In the special dining car, there were also tea, popcorn machines, grilled sausages, etc. "From the moment they got on the train, the tourists started the tour."

She introduced that since ordinary trains can no longer meet people's needs for travel, starting from the Spring Festival of 2022, China Railway Xi'an Bureau Group Co., Ltd. upgraded and renovated 9 carriages, including 3 shower carriages, 3 dining carriages and 3 entertainment carriages. The 9 carriages were officially put into operation in May 2022, and the existing trains were configured with carriages according to passenger flow and demand.

On the 25th of last month, China Railway Xi'an Bureau Group Co., Ltd. launched Shaanxi's first customized train with the theme of "Qinling Ice and Snow Tour", which runs round trip on the same day and will be fixed to run every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

According to data provided by China Railway Xi'an Bureau Travel Service Media Co., Ltd., from December 25, 2022 to January 8, 2023, a total of 7 Xi'an-Qinling customized service trains were organized to run, sending 8,959 tourists. It is planned to run 2 Xi'an-Qinling service trains from January 14 to 15, and it is expected to send 3,000 tourists.

In addition to the travel agencies within the Railway Bureau, the Xi'an Railway Bureau also cooperates with the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Association. Li Muhua said that the ticket is 118 yuan per person, which cannot be bought on 12306. It is different from ordinary trains. It is not just a ticket, but also includes guide fees and insurance fees . If tourists want to take this train, they can go to major travel agencies to sign up, or directly purchase tickets through the mini-programs in the group's own travel agencies.

Li Muhua said that now only this tourist train is open. In the future, other routes will be opened around Shaanxi's local tourism resources according to the season and local conditions. A rapeseed flower tourist train may be opened in the spring, and a red tourist train to Yan'an in the summer. A tourist train to Hancheng is also being planned.

Li Muhua said that the current tourist trains are all within Shaanxi, and as for the tourist trains outside the province, they may have to wait until after March this year.

Li Muhua received a lot of feedback from tourists. "Everyone thinks it's very good and fresh. In the past, they had to sit for a long time with the 'bang bang' sound, which was quite boring. Now it is more entertaining and the entertainment facilities on our train are all full." She said that many tourists even bought tickets specifically to experience this special train.

This is not the first company to place mahjong tables in tourist trains. Public information shows that in 2020, China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group Co., Ltd. launched 18 new Orient Express trains. Each train has a bar car equipped with coffee seats, TVs, stereos, karaoke, pianos and other entertainment facilities, and provides paid drinks and mahjong tables.

In 2021, Sichuan Chengdu Railway International Business Travel Group Co., Ltd. also launched a high-end tourist train - the "Panda Train". The train is equipped with a bar, KTV, dance floor, chess and card room, shower system and theme cultural restaurant. Automatic mahjong machines are also installed in the chess and card room.
