Cross-Sell: Tesla registered 16,200 vehicles in California in the third quarter of 2020

Ownership and registration data collected by market research firm Cross-Sell show that Tesla's registrations in California have recovered from a low of about 9,800 in the second quarter to about 16,200 in the three months ending September. But due to a sharp drop in Model 3 registrations, the number is still down about 13% from the same period last year.

A report released by Cross-Sell in July this year showed that Tesla registered 9,774 vehicles in California in the second quarter, a year-on-year decrease of nearly 48%. In the 23 states tracked in the Cross-Sell report, Tesla's total registrations were 18,702 vehicles, a decrease of nearly 49%.

Earlier this month, Tesla announced that it delivered 139,300 electric vehicles in the third quarter, a month-on-month increase of more than 53% compared with 90,650 vehicles in the second quarter of this year, and a year-on-year increase of 43% compared with 97,000 vehicles in the same period last year, setting a new record again.
