Mitsubishi China recalls imported ASX and Pajero Sport

Recently, Mitsubishi Motors Sales (China) Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and will recall some imported ASX and Pajero Sport vehicles from December 9, 2016. According to the company's statistics, a total of 21,051 vehicles are involved in mainland China. The details are as follows: The recalled vehicles include 17,547 imported ASX vehicles from model years 2011 to 2012 manufactured between July 7, 2010 and March 20, 2012. A total of 3,504 imported Pajero Sport cars of the 2011~2012 model years produced between February 1, 2011 and November 4, 2012. Reason for recall The outer tube cover of the rear door pneumatic strut of the vehicles within the scope of this recall is not rust-proof enough. Under the condition of long-term salt corrosion, the outer tube may rupture and injure surrounding personnel when the rear door is opened, posing a safety hazard. Solution Mitsubishi Motors Sales (China) Co., Ltd. will inspect the rear door pneumatic struts of the vehicles within the scope of the recall and replace them with improved parts free of charge.
