Recently, Beijing Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products", and decided to recall a total of 97,574 Hyundai Tucson models from February 1, 2018.

A total of 33,722 new Tucsons (including only 1.6T models equipped with 7-speed dual-clutch transmissions) were produced between June 1, 2016 and August 23, 2016. Due to a defect in the dual-clutch transmission control unit program, the vehicle may be delayed in starting. If the accelerator pedal is pressed steadily for 1.5-2.0 seconds, the vehicle will start to accelerate and return to normal, but if the accelerator pedal is pressed repeatedly, the vehicle may not accelerate, posing a safety hazard.

Beijing Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. will upgrade the dual-clutch transmission control unit program for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate safety hazards. In fact, as early as September 30, 2016, Beijing Hyundai issued a similar recall. This recall can be said to be an expanded action taken to trace the source.

In addition, Beijing Hyundai will also recall 63,852 new Tucsons produced between April 1, 2017 and October 25, 2017. Due to assembly problems, when the parking brake pedal is pressed in the parking state, the parking brake pedal arm and the control harness may interfere. After a period of use, the control harness may be worn, causing the dashboard fault light to light up and the vehicle to be unable to start. In extreme cases, the control harness may short-circuit, posing a safety hazard. For this reason, Beijing Hyundai will also repair and replace parts for users free of charge.
