Audi and Huawei once again join hands to deepen cooperation in the field of intelligent connected vehicles

On July 10, Beijing time, Audi and Huawei jointly signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation in Berlin, Germany. According to the cooperation plan, the two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of intelligent connected vehicles, jointly promote the development of autonomous driving and digital services, and carry out a pilot project of LTE-V vehicle networking communication standards in Wuxi. In addition, Audi and Huawei will jointly conduct project training to strengthen the professional knowledge training of technical talents of both parties.

Saad Metz, Executive Vice President of Audi China, said, "Through cooperation with Huawei, we will continue to strengthen research in the field of intelligent connected vehicles. It is our common goal to shape smart cities by improving safety and optimizing traffic flow, and related research will first focus on the Chinese market.

Xiong Wei, President of Huawei's LTE Product Line, said, "We are entering a new era of intelligent connected cars. New technological synergies are being formed between information and communication technology and the automotive industry. With the continuous innovation of mobile Internet technology, Huawei will also promote changes in driving experience."

In fact, this is not the first time that Audi and Huawei have joined hands. It is reported that as early as 2017, Audi, Huawei and relevant Chinese institutions jointly conducted public road tests of the LTE-V Internet of Vehicles project in Wuxi, and Audi became the first foreign automaker to participate in the test. The project is based on LTE-V wireless communication technology, which provides drivers with real-time traffic information by connecting vehicles with intersection traffic light systems and video surveillance facilities. More application examples of the second phase of the project will be displayed at the "World Internet of Things Expo" held in Wuxi in September 2018.
