Recently, the China Electric Vehicle 100 Association publicly stated that the supply of new energy credits in 2016 and 2017 exceeded the demand. The supply of new energy positive credits in the market was 2.6 million points, and the industry's negative fuel consumption credits were about 800,000 points.

This oversupply has led to low points prices. Currently, the transaction price of points in the Chinese market for 2016-2017 is already below 1,000 per point.

When the policy was formulated, the policy makers did not expect that there would be an oversupply of credits in the new energy market. This situation occurred because car companies made preparations for the dual credit policy before and after its implementation.

Car companies with more negative points have cooperated with car companies with positive points. For example, GAC and Toyota cooperate in sales: Toyota sells pure electric vehicles at GAC Toyota 4S stores, with GAC logos.

Car companies have also increased the range of their new energy vehicles. This has also increased the positive points. In order to cope with the double points policy, various car companies have launched new energy vehicle models. This year, under the overall sluggish auto market, the new energy vehicle consumer market is very hot. In August, the sales of new energy vehicles reached 84,000, a year-on-year increase of 61.7%. From January to August, the sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 500,000, a year-on-year increase of 100%.

Most car companies are no longer under pressure to deal with the proportion of new energy points. In fact, fuel vehicles account for too much, and Great Wall Motors, which has a slow development of new energy vehicles, has also recently begun to lay out new energy vehicles - launching the new Ora brand, co-founding Light Beam with BMW, and investing in electric vehicle companies.

Even if Great Wall still has a large amount of negative points, it will not have to pay too much due to the lower transaction price of points. Correspondingly, the point income of car companies with abundant new energy points has also been greatly reduced.

In response to this situation, relevant experts suggest that the points ratio for new energy vehicles should be adjusted in a timely manner according to actual market conditions, so as to give full play to the role of dual-points detection.

However, it should be recognized that the current low credit price indicates that various automakers have been accelerating the layout of the new energy industry. Under the influence of the dual credit policy, corporate behavior has changed, which has led to the majority of companies being able to pass. In order to further promote the development of the new energy vehicle industry, it is necessary to adjust the credit ratio in a timely manner, but the role that the dual credit policy has played should not be denied. The credit ratio of new energy vehicles cannot be blindly increased in order to maintain the credit price at a high level.
