Musk: Tesla may stop selling cars once fully autonomous driving technology is solved

Recently, foreign media revealed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that once Tesla solves the autonomous driving technology, it is very likely to stop selling cars.

Musk said the company's "master plan" is to enable Tesla vehicles equipped with full self-driving hardware to operate as self-driving robotaxis, thereby generating revenue for both the owner and Tesla.

Musk also said that consumers buying Tesla cars now are an "appreciated asset" rather than a "liability" because Tesla cars may generate income in the future. Once the technology of self-driving robot taxis matures, Tesla will no longer sell cars to consumers, at least not at the current price.

Although it will take some time to achieve this goal, judging from the industry, Tesla will have no problem going the car rental route.
