At 4:30 a.m. Beijing time on September 23, Tesla will hold its Battery Day event as scheduled and announce the revolutionary super new battery that it has repeatedly promoted.

Perhaps because he felt that he had raised everyone's expectations too high and boasted too much, Musk clarified on social media, saying that the new battery will not be officially mass-produced until 2022 at the earliest, especially the models used in Semi, Cybertruck, Roadster and other models.

According to Tesla's previous statement, Tesla will announce a lot of latest developments in its battery technology at the Battery Day event, calling it a "million-mile" battery, which has aroused public expectations.

However, Musk said that the shortage of battery supply will hardly improve in the next few years, so Tesla will not cut battery orders from LG or CATL. Because Panasonic's factory has long been struggling to increase production, which has seriously affected the production of Model 3, Tesla has ended its exclusive partnership with Panasonic.

According to foreign media reports, Tesla has set up an experimental production line for a new super battery in Vermont, claiming that the battery has excellent performance and ultra-high energy density, and can provide extremely high endurance levels.

The news that the "revolutionary new super battery" would not be able to be mass-produced within two years was exposed before Tesla's Battery Day, triggering negative emotions among users and the industry, causing Tesla's stock price to fall by 7% at one point.
