In September 2021, on the first anniversary of the "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" strategy and the launch of the demonstration application of fuel cell vehicles in my country, the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance issued the "Renewable Hydrogen 100 Action Initiative". Since the launch of the initiative, in order to better promote the implementation of the hydrogen energy goals of the "Medium- and Long-Term Plan for the Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035)" and the "14th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy Development", the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance Research Institute and the Rocky Mountain Institute have jointly carried out the "China 2030 "Renewable Hydrogen 100" Development Roadmap" research work. Based on the current development status of China's hydrogen energy industry, and based on the demand and supply scale of hydrogen energy and renewable hydrogen under the carbon neutrality scenario in 2060, and fully combining the laws of industrial development, it proposed a goal of 100 gigawatts of renewable hydrogen installed capacity in 2030. It analyzed and sorted out the renewable hydrogen consumption in 2030 of the three major hydrogen energy key consumption industries of chemical, steel and transportation, as well as the production of renewable hydrogen in seven major regions including Northeast China, North China, Northwest China, Central China, East China, South China and Southwest China, proposed guiding targets for different industries and regions, and formed the results of the research report. The research report starts from six directions: promoting the accelerated development of renewable hydrogen, strengthening the leading role of hydrogen energy scientific and technological innovation, building a unified renewable hydrogen market, guiding the integrated development of renewable hydrogen, insisting on the safe development of the hydrogen energy industry, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of renewable hydrogen, so as to further give play to the clean advantages of hydrogen energy, assist in the construction of new power systems with a gradually increasing proportion of new energy, and promote deep decarbonization in industries such as industry and transportation.
