China Passenger Car Association: Wuling Hongguang MINI EV sold 41,255 units in October 2022, a year-on-year decrease of 13.8%

The China Passenger Car Association released the car sales list for October. The models on the list also underwent a major reshuffle. The star models of traditional car companies also began to perform well and regained the top three positions.

Specifically, Wuling Hongguang MINI EV still ranks first on the list, with 41,255 units sold in October, a year-on-year decrease of 13.8%, and still firmly holds the throne of the domestic electric vehicle sales champion. However, Wuling's only popular model is Hongguang MINI EV, and Wuling's excessive dependence on it is not conducive to the healthy development of the group.

After a long period of silence, Nissan Sylphy regained the second place in sales, selling 40,504 units in October, a slight decrease of 3.3% year-on-year, maintaining last year's stable performance level.

Following closely behind is the Volkswagen Lavida, which sold 32,540 units in October. Although it decreased by 14.1% year-on-year, it is also one of the few models under SAIC Volkswagen that can sell more than 30,000 units.

BYD took the fourth, fifth and sixth places. BYD Qin sold 32,068 units in October, up 16.1% year-on-year, continuing to be the leading model of domestic A-class hybrid sedans.

BYD Han, a mid-to-large sedan, sold 31,468 units in October, a year-on-year increase of 183.9%, becoming a phenomenally popular model. Compared with Toyota Camry, the best-selling domestic B-class car, BYD Han is nearly 10,000 units ahead.

BYD Dolphin ranked sixth, with 25,240 units sold in October, a year-on-year increase of 319.4%, and has become the best-selling model among domestic hatchbacks.

As for the seventh to tenth places, they are Toyota Camry, Corolla, Volkswagen New Bora and Geely Emgrand, among which Volkswagen New Bora has the largest increase.
