Samsung S5 Download Booster Experience

At the Samsung GALAXY S5 launch event, Samsung introduced a new technology to us - Download Booster. Simply put, when we download a file, the 4G network will download it at the same time as the WLAN to ensure a faster download speed. This acceleration function sounds very powerful, but in actual use, can the 4G LTE network really accelerate our downloads? In today's article, we will use the mobile version of Samsung GALAXY S5 G9008V to take you to experience this feature. Before using this function, we need to turn on the "Download Booster" switch in the system settings. In this way, when we download files exceeding 30MB, the download booster will turn on the 4G+WLAN simultaneous download mode. Of course, the mobile phone's data traffic switch must also be turned on at the same time. "Hearing is believing, seeing is believing." Now let's verify whether this function is really useful by actually downloading a file. We selected a 50.52MB game "Angry Birds Space" on the Zhongguancun Online Download Station, and downloaded the same file using only WLAN and using the "Download Booster" 4G+WLAN high-speed download mode to see what the difference is in the results. We used WLAN to download Angry Birds Space in 74.82 seconds, and used the "Download Booster" to download in 19.28 seconds, a difference of 3.8 times between the two methods. The 4G+WLAN combination significantly speeds up downloads. During the download process, we can see in the mobile phone status bar how much speed the LTE network contributes to the download. Since the current maximum bandwidth of wireless routers is generally 54Mbps and 108Mbps, the penetration rate of 300Mbps routers is not very high, and the theoretical bandwidth of 4G can reach 100Mbps, using 4G to supplement WLAN can definitely shorten the download time. Of course, there is a prerequisite: you need to have enough 4G traffic.
