Experience of using Samsung S5 for a week

Experience of using Samsung S5 for a week

You may not believe me, but I have used almost ten Samsung phones in the past two years: S3 - NOTE2 - S3-NOTE2 - S4 - N9006 - N900 - N9008 - N9005 - N9008V. Like everyone else, when S5 came out, I thought that NOTE3 was too ugly and didn't need to be replaced. But summer is coming, and NOTE3 is not convenient to put in my pocket, so I decided to replace it.

I'll use the 5S or S5 first, and when the iPhone 6 comes out, I'll decide to join the Apple camp. I don't want to bother with it anymore. Without further ado, let's mainly talk about the pros and cons:

Appearance: It looks really ugly at first glance. Is this still a Samsung flagship? But after using it for a few days, I think it's acceptable, especially the back cover is really beautiful.

System UI: The changes compared with previous Samsung phones are quite big. It seems that GOOGLE has put a lot of pressure on Samsung. Except for the lack of virtual keys, it is really close to GOOGLE. I was not used to it at first, but I got used to it slowly.

Software: mainly added fingerprint recognition and heart rate measurement. Fingerprint recognition was difficult to use at first, but later it was okay, but I think it is too troublesome and I am used to sliding to unlock. I think the heart rate measurement software is still good.

Photo: The camera was slow to open several times. Photo performance has improved, but it feels just so-so. In fact, except for the poor night scene shooting ability, NOTE3 is fully capable. The night scene of S5 is still not tested.

Battery life: slightly better than NOTE3, but completely sufficient for me.

Signal: The mobile 4G signal is better than my NOTE3, and the WIFI signal is also better.

Music: I like to play some music when I wake up, so I don’t even use the NOTE3 earphones. But the S5’s external speaker was uncomfortable at first, probably because it’s waterproof, and it vibrates a lot, especially when I hold it in my hand.

In short: if you are switching from NOTE3 to S5, and if you don't find it inconvenient in summer, there is no need to switch at all. If you really want to switch, wait for NOTE4.
