Normally, the clock rate of the Windows system is 15.625 milliseconds, which means that the processor will be awakened about 64 times per second. Morris found that when Chrome is running, the system clock rate will be changed to 1 millisecond, which means that the processor will "wake up" 1,000 times per second. Morris explained that the Chrome browser modifies the Windows system clock rate, and the number of times the system is awakened will increase. Microsoft has also said that when the system clock rate changes to 1 millisecond, the computer's power consumption increases by 25%. Because the clock rate is applicable to the entire system, when Chrome is turned on, it affects the entire system, and the battery load of the laptop naturally increases. Morris believes that the only way at present is to temporarily change to a browser, such as Firefox or IE, and hopes that Google will pay attention to this problem.
