Apple CEO Tim Cook said when Apple released its second quarter financial report that compared with the iPhone 4s in 2013, the iPhone 5c, as Apple's mid-range model, set a new sales record in the second quarter of this year, and became the product with the largest growth rate in the entire iPhone product line. This growth rate exceeded the sales of other models with the same positioning in the same period, such as the growth rate of the iPhone 5s in 2014 compared with the iPhone 5 in 2013, and the sales of the low-end iPhone 4s in 2014 compared with the iPhone 4 in 2013. Cook said that he was very satisfied with the performance of the iPhone 5c and the two-year contract price of US$99 (about RMB 600). Compared with the flagship iPhone 5s, the iPhone 5c not only uses a plastic shell in multiple colors, but also lacks the latest A7 processor and Touch ID fingerprint recognition system. Cook did not clearly disclose the specific sales of each iPhone model, but he said that the overall sales share of the iPhone 5c has increased significantly, and as a mid-range product, it has improved the situation of poor sales.
