Data from the National Energy Administration show that the total installed capacity of wind and solar power in China has exceeded 1 billion kilowatts , and its dominant position in the newly installed power capacity has been further consolidated. In 2023, the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases in China progressed smoothly. As of the end of November, the first batch had been completed and connected to the grid with a capacity of 45.16 million kilowatts, and the second and third batches had been approved for more than 50 million kilowatts and are being built one after another.

After breaking through 1.3 billion kilowatts in June this year, the country's installed capacity of renewable energy power generation reached a new high, exceeding 1.4 billion kilowatts by the end of October , reaching 1.404 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%.

According to data from the National Energy Administration, as of the end of October, renewable energy power generation capacity accounted for about 49.9% of the country's total power generation capacity, which means that the country's total power generation capacity is about 2.8 billion kilowatts.

According to this calculation, the proportion of total wind and solar installed capacity in the country's total power generation capacity has exceeded 1/3.

The National Energy Administration stated that the country will accelerate the construction of a new power system. In 2024, the country's wind power and photovoltaic installed capacity will continue to increase by about 200 million kilowatts.

As of the end of October, the installed capacity of renewable energy power generation was: hydropower 420 million kilowatts, wind power 404 million kilowatts, photovoltaic power generation 536 million kilowatts, and biomass power generation 44 million kilowatts.

The National Energy Administration predicts that the country's renewable energy power generation will reach 3 trillion kWh in 2023, accounting for about one-third of the total electricity consumption in society.
