Apple users complain: iPhone 6 screen is too easy to be scratched!

On November 25, more and more Apple users complained on online forums that their recently purchased iPhone 6 phones had slight scratches, which had never appeared in previous generations of iPhones. Users even pointed out that the phone had some obvious material and design problems.

Many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users have reported the problem of the screen glass being easily scratched in the Support Communities, an online technical support community in Apple's official discussion area. Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were officially launched on September 19 this year. However, just four days after the launch, on September 23, a netizen named jake.underwood26 took the lead in posting a message on the forum saying that despite his careful care, the iPhone 6 Plus he bought still had a clear scratch on the upper left corner of the screen. As of Monday this week, the message has been viewed more than 103,000 times and received 626 replies.

Similar reactions have emerged on many other online forums, with users reporting that their iPhone 6 screens have scratched after less than a week of normal use. Some users have compared the iPhone 6 with previous generations of iPhones, finding that the screens of previous models were less prone to scratching after several years of use.

Apple has never officially disclosed the exact material used for the iPhone 6 screen protection. Some analysts believe that this material is Corning's Gorilla Glass 3, which is mainly made of an alkali-aluminosilicate strengthened sheet glass. However, Apple has been promoting this "strengthened X-ion" glass, claiming that this material is stronger than ordinary screens.

AppleInsider, a foreign technology news website, obtained first-hand information about iPhone 6 screen scratches from a user. In the picture above, the screen glass of the iPhone 6 seems to have rubbed against a hard surface during the polishing process. The scratches in the picture are very deep and can be clearly felt with the thumbnail. When the phone screen is turned off, the scratches are clearly visible.

There are a number of reasons why the iPhone 6 screen is more prone to scratches. For example, this iPhone is Apple's first model to use curved display glass, and its edge-to-edge screen doesn't offer protection from friction. The iPhone 5S, on the other hand, uses a flat glass screen wrapped in a thermoplastic outer material, which helps to provide enhanced shock absorption and more protection for the screen.

Apple has not yet given an official response to the user's complaint report. However, an Apple store has replaced some scratched phones brought in by users. Apple's official website does not provide warranty service terms for such phones, and Apple phone users on other forums have not yet received replacement services provided by Apple.
