Some Win10 users complained: battery life dropped sharply and heat was severe

The latest report states that Windows 10 has been installed on 81 million devices , an efficiency never achieved by Microsoft before.

According to Softpedia, editor Bogdan Popa found that his Lenovo T400s laptop had a phenomenon of faster power consumption and increased heating after upgrading to Windows 10. Specifically, the laptop began to overheat within 5 minutes of cold start, and the battery life dropped sharply to 40 minutes.

In comparison, when using Win8.1 and Ubuntu, the heat is not so serious and the battery life can reach 2 hours.

According to the report, after searching the web and Windows feedback, they found that hundreds of users who participated in the test had reported this problem to Microsoft. One user reported that the battery life of Surface Pro 2 was greatly reduced and the power consumption was faster after upgrading to Windows 10 compared with when it was running Windows 8.1. Currently, this user feedback has received hundreds of votes.

Microsoft has not yet provided a solution to the battery life and overheating issues of some Windows 10 devices. Softpeidia recommends that users turn off unnecessary background processes to alleviate the above problems, and also be careful to disable data tracking services that are always running in the background.
