On July 23, the 2020 college entrance examination results in various provinces and cities were announced one after another. It is learned that Ang Ziyu, a blind candidate from Anhui Province, scored 635 points, including 130 points in Chinese, 127 points in mathematics, 257 points in comprehensive science, and 121 points in English, which is 120 points higher than the first-tier line of Anhui Province for science.

It is reported that this year is Ang Ziyu's second time to take the National College Entrance Examination. Last year, he scored 551 points, 55 points higher than the local first-class admission line, but he thought that the results were not ideal and insisted on repeating the exam.

"He thought that he made some mistakes in the comprehensive science exam. There was a multiple-choice question in physics with six figures, which was beyond his level and also wasted a lot of Ang Ziyu's time. But all in all, he achieved his wish this time," Ang Ziyu's father Ang Guoyin told reporters. "He wanted to study at a public normal school and become a teacher in a special education school in the future."

According to CCTV reports, this year a total of five completely blind candidates from four provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Shanxi, Anhui, Shanghai and Tibet took the college entrance examination using Braille test papers. The printing cost of Braille test papers is complicated. Braille is based on "squares", each square has 6 dots, and different meanings can be expressed through the arrangement and combination of these dots. Generally, two "fang" are needed to express the syllable of a Chinese character.

Blind candidates have to answer questions by touching the Braille test paper with their hands, and it takes them much longer than healthy candidates.
