Foreign media revealed the cause of Samsung Note7 explosion: manufacturing error, different battery sizes

According to the Wall Street Journal, the cause of the Samsung Note7 explosion will be officially announced on the 23rd of this month. However, sources revealed that Samsung attributed this major accident to manufacturing errors and batteries of different sizes. In order to find the specific cause of the Note7 explosion, Samsung hired three independent "quality control and supply chain analysis companies". After months of research, they believe that the two problems mentioned above are the main reasons for the premature death of Note7. First, the batteries manufactured by Samsung's subsidiary SDI are of different sizes, some of which are inconsistent with the size of the battery compartment, which is very easy to heat up during use and eventually cause explosions. After the Note7 explosion problem appeared in August last year, Samsung started the first wave of recalls. In order to replace the problematic devices in the hands of users in time, Samsung used batteries from Chinese manufacturer ATL. In this process, Samsung encountered unknown "manufacturing errors". On September 2 last year, Samsung started the first wave of recalls, and then Note7 began to become a "thorn in the eye" of various airlines. A month later, on October 11, many users who replaced the new machine reported that Note7 still had explosion problems, and Samsung had to announce the permanent suspension of production and sales of Note7. At present, 96% of Note7 sold in the US market have been recalled.
