Li Yanhong's prediction for 2019: Mobile phones may be phased out

"I think the next 20 years will probably be a period where people will become less and less dependent on mobile phones." On the first day of the New Year, Robin Li made a prediction for the new year on CCTV's 2019 New Year special program. He said that after the advent of artificial intelligence, mobile phones will no longer be needed in many cases.

Over the past 20 years, one of the changes that everyone has noticed is that everyone has a mobile phone. Li Yanhong said, "In the past, people relied so much on mobile phones because, for example, if you interact with your phone using voice, the phone needs to be very close to you. If it is far away, it will not work. But in the future, if you interact with artificial intelligence, even if it is 3 meters or 5 meters away, it will be able to accurately understand what you are saying and respond accordingly."

In Li Yanhong's opinion, in the next 20 years, mobile phones may really be phased out. The development of artificial intelligence technology will make sensors everywhere in people's lives and work, and they can well sense human needs. Li Yanhong also said in the program that in the future, simple repetitive mental work will be replaced by artificial intelligence, for example, autonomous driving can replace drivers; translation software can replace translators, etc.

It is understood that Baidu's artificial intelligence products have begun to show scale effects. Artificial intelligence applications in multiple fields such as smart travel, smart home, and smart medical care have been released one after another. The Apollo system, the world's first open platform for autonomous driving, and the "Baidu Brain" technology open platform also provide artificial intelligence services for governments, enterprises, and developers. Perhaps in the future, what Robin Li mentioned, "the era of artificial intelligence will gradually become personalized, and what everyone gets will be different," may also become a reality.
