Google to release Android M system at the end of the month

On May 7, Google (Weibo) will hold its annual I/O developer conference in the United States on May 28. As usual, Google will release the latest Android operating system. Although Google has not yet made a direct statement, its I/O conference schedule has revealed some clues.

At this year's I/O conference, there was a session called "Android M." Remember, Android 5.0 Lollipop was originally named "Android L" before Google officially launched it in 2014. As of now, only about 10% of Android devices are using Android 5.0, but even so, Google has not slowed down its pace of pushing the operating system forward.

Unfortunately, the I/O session descriptions don't give a lot of details. The "Android at Work" session description simply says that Android M "enables Android to be used in every workplace."

In fact, Google has begun to extend Android to various fields, such as mobile phones, tablets, cars, TVs, and even the Chrome OS operating system can run Android.

Now, Android looks set to focus more on the enterprise market, and it's clear that Google needs developers to get involved.

At the I/O conference, a session focusing on "interruptions" showed that Google has been working on improving the push notification method of Lollipop. Another session was called "Voice Access", which showed that Google wanted users to control every function of Android devices and applications through voice alone.

Google describes Voice Access as follows:

“Touchscreens are the primary input mode for mobile hardware. With 1 billion active Android devices in use, and growth showing no signs of slowing down, what if you could provide users with a whole new way to access your apps with little to no development cost? In this talk, we’ll introduce Voice Access, which gives anyone access to their Android device using just their voice.
