WeChat announces eight hardware industry solutions for the first time

On August 25, at the final of the WeChat Hardware Innovation Competition, WeChat officially announced the "Eight Industry Solutions for WeChat Hardware", covering eight industries including air conditioners, toys, routers, home furnishings, televisions, top-up, health, and wearables.

Tencent Vice President Zhang Ying said that WeChat will position itself as an information hub and release the relationship chain capabilities. Connect hardware devices, manufacturers and users to achieve data differentiation and linkage. At the same time, through WeChat users and social relationships, stimulate user participation and stickiness to help hardware sales. Take WeChat Sports as an example. Currently, there are more than 10 million users and it has promoted the sales of sports bracelets. Next, Midea washing machines and Haier air conditioners will be connected to WeChat.

According to Zhang Ying, the WeChat hardware platform has connected to 2,433 manufacturers, with 25 million devices activated and 18,882 applications for testing.
