Which Google products have more than 1 billion users?

In Google's third-quarter earnings report, Ruth Porat, chief financial officer of Google and its parent company Alphabet, wrote: "With more than 1 billion users worldwide for all six of Google's products, we are excited about the future of Google and Alphabet!"

In the third quarter, Google products with more than 1 billion users were the video service YouTube, the operating system Android, search, maps, the browser Chrome, and the app store Google Play. Among them, Android had 1.4 billion active users. The browser Chrome had 1 billion monthly active users, of which 400 million used the browser on mobile devices. Among people aged 18 to 34, YouTube had more users than any cable TV network in the United States.

These numbers are quite staggering. Take the social network Facebook, for example. Although many of its services are close to 1 billion users, such as WhatsApp with 900 million users and Messenger with 700 million users, only the "Big Blue App" has crossed the "magic threshold" of 1 billion users, reaching 1.4 billion users.

Porat pointed out at the earnings conference that among Google's six major products with more than 1 billion users, three were acquired through acquisitions, namely YouTube, Android and Maps.

During the earnings conference, an analyst asked how Google plans to make money with these six products. In response, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that these products have already started to make money together. He gave an example that even though Google Maps has not really made money, it has helped mobile search become better, and a large amount of Google's revenue comes from mobile search. Pichai also called YouTube and Google Play the biggest revenue opportunities in the future.

"As we work to scale these apps to a billion people, we're building the infrastructure and supporting our cloud platform to get even better," Pichai said.
