WeChat Mini Programs Major Upgrade: Open Cloud Development

After a rare month of silence, WeChat Mini Programs finally welcomed a new feature, and "cloud development" was officially opened.

A cloud development function has been added to the mini program developer tools. With it, developers can quickly launch and iterate mini programs without having to build their own servers, greatly saving development costs and speeding up development.

Cloud development provides three basic capabilities to help developers quickly develop mini-programs:

1. Cloud Function

Developers can write functions and deploy them in the cloud according to business needs, and then call them in the mini program.

Developers do not need to maintain complex authentication mechanisms, nor do they need to purchase and build servers, and can easily complete mini-program development.

2. Database

Developers can read and write the database directly in the mini program frontend or cloud function, and also support data management through the cloud development console in the developer tools.

3. Storage Management

Developers can easily implement file upload/download and management functions on the mini program front end, and can also manage them in the developer tool cloud development console.
