In the era of mobile payment, the role of payment platforms in preventing telecom fraud is becoming increasingly important. On February 26, Alipay launched the anti-fraud product "Safety Guardian". If a transaction is identified as having a fraud risk, Alipay will contact the "guardian" previously set by the user to remind and dissuade the user.

When the reporter tried it that day, he found that searching for "Safety Guardian" in the Alipay app and clicking on it would open the service. The page showed that the person to be actively guarded and the guardian who wanted to be guarded could be set. The page said, "When a family member is at risk, the guardian will be notified via SMS or service reminders."

Prior to this, Alipay had also launched an anti-fraud product, "Delayed Receipt 2.0". According to the introduction at the time, if users who chose this service found that they were defrauded before the transfer, they could report to the police in time and the transfer could be withdrawn.

Alipay said that identifying fraudulent transactions is an industry problem. Currently, Alipay can accurately identify some transactions suspected of fraud. It will issue reminders for transactions with risks. However, victims are often "blinded by the situation" and tend to ignore the reminders. The launch of "Safety Guardian" is expected to solve this problem.

In addition, at the Tianlang Project Conference held on February 26, 26 anti-fraud centers across the country and the China Police Network announced cooperation with Alipay. This also includes the Ministry of Public Security's eight research and judgment centers for combating new types of telecom network crimes, such as the anti-fraud centers in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. These institutions will carry out comprehensive cooperation with Alipay in the fields of safety education, fraud warning, and safety prevention and control to provide users with more security protection.

Rui Xiongwen, vice president of Ant Financial, said that Alipay hopes to protect the rights and interests of users through user education, industry co-governance, and bottom-line guarantees, so that "there will be no thieves in the world." Fighting fraud is the top priority of security, and he called for "fighting fraud like fighting drunk driving."
