On January 8, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the second list of apps that infringe on user rights. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that the above apps should complete the rectification and implementation work before January 17, 2020. If they fail to rectify within the deadline, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organize relevant disposal work in accordance with laws and regulations.

Among them, 15 apps including Tianya Community, Lagou Recruitment, and Yidian Zixun were notified. The problems involved in these 15 apps include: collecting personal information without permission, not giving permission and not allowing users to use excessive permissions, sharing with third parties without permission, making it difficult to cancel accounts, and forcing users to use targeted push functions.

In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will take this special rectification action as an opportunity to continue to strengthen App supervision and inspection, form a normalized supervision mechanism, and effectively safeguard the rights and interests of users.

In addition, in the first batch of lists, three companies failed to complete the rectification as required and were removed from the shelves by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in accordance with the law. These three apps are: Renren Video, Chunyu Pedometer, and Weichang-Original Music.
