Recently, many users have complained online about the inevitable crash of their Android apps. After investigation, Google found that the problem was related to the WebView component in the system. At the same time, Samsung's official support account gave a temporary solution on Twitter, suggesting that users go to "Settings → Apps", click "…" in the upper right corner → "Show system apps", and then search and write in "Android System WebView" update. In a statement to foreign media, Google said that they are aware of the crash issues of some Android applications caused by WebView, and the development team is currently working on more comprehensive verification and repairing them. It is reported that the Android System WebView component is designed to help Android applications display web content. However, some users said that deleting recent updates can actually solve the crash problem of related applications. Finally, Google confirmed the same issue with the Android version of Gmail on the Google Workspace status page, and the company recommends using the desktop web version until the issue is officially resolved. |
