WeChat's CallKit feature, which was once banned, returns to iOS: Direct voice calls without unlocking

I wonder if you still remember that Apple launched a feature called "CallKit" as early as the iOS 10 era, which can make Internet calls such as WeChat voice calls completely consistent with the experience of mobile phone calls, and you can answer calls on the lock screen.

This feature was jointly banned in China because it harmed the interests of peer operators, resulting in both Apple and WeChat having to cancel this feature.

However, recently many iPhone users have reported that they inexplicably received the WeChat call screen, which is consistent with the experience when CallKit was still in place. They can answer voice calls on the lock screen interface just like answering a phone call, and the call records can be automatically saved in the system call.

It is reported that the main reason why CallKit is so convenient is that this functional system will allow developers to build the functions of the communication app into the "frequently used contact information" and "call logs" of the phone app, making it convenient for users to directly access these third-party functions through the native phone app.

It also allows users to browse and reply to incoming calls directly in the notification center, and the incoming call screen will also be integrated into the native iOS UI.

It should be noted that this feature does not seem to be open to all users at present. It is only in grayscale testing , and it is not clear whether it will be open to everyone again. Interested users can test whether they are within the test scope.
