A 2,000 yuan and 4,000 yuan phone has the same processor, but the price is half the difference! Where did the latter spend the money?

I don’t know if you have noticed that in recent years, the processor chips used in Android phones priced at one or two thousand yuan and flagship phones priced at three or four thousand yuan are the same.

This is very confusing. If the processor chip is the same, the performance should be the same. Why is the price of the mobile phone half the difference? Where did the money of the latter go?

[[435142]]

Next, let’s explore it!

First of all, the appearance and materials of mobile phones are different. Most mobile phones under 2,000 yuan on the market are made of cheap plastic and metal back shell materials, while most mobile phones priced at 4,000 to 5,000 yuan are made of glass and metal integrated body.

The screen of the mobile phone is also a key point. There is a big difference between the screen specifications of the thousand-yuan phone and the flagship phone. Most of the thousand-yuan phones use LCD screens, while most of the flagship phones use OLED screens, which are much better than LCD in terms of picture quality and power consumption control.

At this point, someone might say that none of these are as important as the processor chip.

This is indeed the case, but we cannot ignore the differences in other hardware configurations, such as memory combination, camera and fast charging support, etc.

For example, Huawei P30 and Honor 20Pro both use the Kirin 980 processor, with self-developed dual NPU, LPDDR4X running memory and UFS2.1 memory.

However, the difference is that the former has larger storage space than the latter. The performance of the two phones is basically the same, but the price difference is 2,000.

Moreover, the camera module is also very important. In terms of camera, most of the thousand-yuan phones use entry-level cameras, and the clarity and pixel quality of the photos are usually significantly different from those taken with high-end phones.

In addition, the fast charging function is now one of the selling points of merchants. Thousand-yuan phones rarely have fast charging functions, and if they do, they are 18W fast charging, while high-end phones generally use fast charging of around 30W or 40W.

Now you know why the 2,000 and 4,000 yuan phones have the same processor but are half the price.
