Apple suddenly changed its attitude! It completely stopped updating iOS 14 and pushed iOS 15: The response is hard to accept

When iOS 15 was officially released, Apple provided the option to stay on iOS 14 and promised to continue to provide iOS 14 security updates and fixes for customers who did not want to upgrade to iOS 15.

However, things changed last week. Those iOS 14 users found that the iOS 14.8.1 update released by Apple in October last year could no longer be checked, and was replaced by iOS 15.2.1.

In response, Apple told the media that allowing it to stay on iOS 14 was a temporary idea from the beginning, and it was just a temporary grace period.

Frankly speaking, Apple is a bit hypocritical, because at the beginning of iOS 15, Apple never mentioned that the option to stay on iOS 14 was only temporary. Even before the deadline, the iOS 15 feature list still clearly stated that it would continue to use iOS 14 and continue to receive important security updates as the "human selling point" of iOS 15.

However, after being exposed, Apple responded again and emphasized that on the support page for updating iPhone/iPad devices, Apple said, "You can choose to upgrade to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS 15 immediately after it is released, or continue to use iOS or iPadOS 14 and still get important security updates for a period of time." Note the wording "for a period of time" here.

Unexpectedly, Apple has also started playing word games. I have to say it’s a bit sad.

Regarding the reason why Apple suddenly stopped updating iOS 14 and pushed iOS 15, outside analysis is that it should be caused by the weak upgrade rate of the newly announced iOS 15. Compared with iOS 14/13 in the same period before, its installation ratio on four-year-old devices is significantly behind.
