The China Earthquake Networks Center officially determined that at 17:00 on June 1, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred in Lushan County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province (30.37 degrees north latitude, 102.94 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 17 kilometers.

At 17:03 on June 1, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred in Baoxing County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province (30.37 degrees north latitude, 102.92 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 18 kilometers.

The earthquake was felt significantly in Chengdu, Chongqing and other places in Sichuan.
