Accurately reflect the scope of China's territory

Map range: The confluence of the Heilongjiang River and the Wusuli River is drawn in the east, the north-south flow of the Penchi River is drawn in the west, the northernmost section of the Heilongjiang River is drawn in the north, and the area south of Zengmu Shoal is drawn in the south;

It should indicate important islands such as the South China Sea Islands, Diaoyu Islands and their affiliated islands

In addition to showing the mainland, Hainan Island and Taiwan Island, the full map of China should also show important islands such as the South China Sea Islands, Diaoyu Islands and their affiliated islands; when the South China Sea Islands are shown in the form of an attached map, the southernmost tip of Hainan Island should be drawn on the south side of the main map of China.

Manila in the Philippines is drawn to the east, Hanoi in Vietnam is drawn to the west, mainland China and the part of Taiwan Island south of the Tropic of Cancer are drawn to the north, and the entire boundary between Indonesia and Malaysia on the island of Kalimantan is drawn to the south (for maps that do not show the boundaries between neighboring countries, Zengmu Shoal and the coastline of Malaysia are drawn to the south; for maps that do not show foreign neighboring areas, Zengmu Shoal is drawn to the south).

Hainan Province map must include the South China Sea Islands

The South China Sea Islands can be included in the main map or as an attached map. A regional map showing Hainan Island in its entirety must be accompanied by an attached map of the "South China Sea Islands". The following exceptions apply:

1. Maps with the title clearly marked as Hainan Island;

2. Maps clearly named as local maps of the northern and western parts of the South China Sea, etc., covering the four boundaries of the South China Sea;

3. Regional maps that do not primarily feature China.

The map of the South China Sea Islands should show these islands and reefs

The map of the South China Sea Islands should show the Dongsha, Xisha, Zhongsha, Nansha Islands, Zengmu Shoal, Huangyan Island and other islands and reefs. If the national boundaries or territorial scope are not shown, the South China Sea Islands and reefs may not be shown.

■ Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands

Maps with a scale greater than 1:100 million and with a map area that includes the Diaoyu Islands and its affiliated islands shall show the Diaoyu Islands and its affiliated islands;

Maps with a scale equal to or less than 1:100 million and maps that do not show national boundaries or territorial boundaries may not show the Diaoyu Islands and its affiliated islands.

■ Map of Taiwan Province

Taiwan Province should be represented on the map as a provincial-level administrative unit. Taipei City is represented as a provincial-level administrative center (provincial-level administrative center is noted in the legend). New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Taichung City, Tainan City, and Kaohsiung City in Taiwan Province are represented as prefecture-level administrative centers;

Map Range

The map of Taiwan Province shall include Diaoyu Island and Chiwei Island (except for maps named "Taiwan Island"). Diaoyu Island and Chiwei Island can be included in the full map of Taiwan Province, or the geographical relationship between Taiwan Island and Diaoyu Island and Chiwei Island can be reflected in the attached map.
