On June 14, the Long March 10 series of launch vehicles reported new progress, with the first-stage power system test run being successful. During the test run, the engine started normally, worked stably, shut down on time, and all parameters tested normal.

This test was the first large-scale system-level ground test of the Long March 10 series of launch vehicles. It fully verified the matching of the first-stage pressurization and delivery system with the engine, the propellant filling process, the multi-machine parallel force transmission and environmental characteristics and other technologies.

The Long March 10 is a three-and-a-half-stage rocket developed for manned lunar exploration . According to information from the First Academy of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the rocket is 92.5 meters long, weighs about 2,189 tons at takeoff, has a thrust of about 2,678 tons at takeoff, and has a carrying capacity of no less than 27 tons for the Earth-Moon transfer orbit.

The booster-free configuration rocket derived from this type of rocket can carry out space station astronaut and cargo transportation missions, and will be used to launch a new generation of manned spacecraft and lunar landers in the future. In addition, the Long March 10 has also designed another booster-free configuration that can carry out space station astronaut and cargo transportation missions.

In 2023, the lunar landing phase of the manned lunar exploration project was approved and launched. The overall goal is to achieve Chinese landing on the moon before 2030. Currently, various systems are being developed and constructed as planned.

According to the subsequent development plan, the Long March 10 series of launch vehicles will carry out the second test run of the first-stage power system in the near future, further verify other operating conditions, and lay a solid foundation for the manned lunar exploration project.
