The Central Meteorological Observatory issued a typhoon blue warning at 10:00 on October 27:

Typhoon Trami, the 20th typhoon this year, weakened from a typhoon to a severe tropical storm last night (26th). At 5 a.m. today (27th), its center was located in the central and western part of the South China Sea, about 110 kilometers northeast of Da Nang, Vietnam, at 16.8 degrees north latitude and 108.9 degrees east longitude. The maximum wind speed near the center was level 10 (25 meters/second), the lowest central pressure was 982 hPa, and the radius of the level 7 wind circle was 210-350 kilometers.

It is expected that "Trami" will move southwestward at a speed of 15-20 kilometers per hour, and will land on the coast of Da Nang City, Vietnam around noon today (27th) (18-23 meters/second, 8-9 levels, tropical storm level), and then circle around the coast of central Vietnam with little movement, and its intensity will gradually weaken.

Strong wind forecast : from 08:00 on the 27th to 08:00 on the 28th, under the combined influence of cold air and "Trami", there will be strong winds of Level 6-7, with gusts of Level 8-9, in the central, western and southwestern waters of the South China Sea, the Qiongzhou Strait, the Beibu Gulf, the Xisha Islands, the western part of the Nansha Islands, as well as the western coastal areas of Guangdong, the coastal areas of Guangxi and the coastal areas of Hainan Island. Among them, the wind force in the central and western waters of the South China Sea and the southern waters of the Beibu Gulf can reach Level 8-9, with gusts of Level 10-11.

Why is Typhoon Trami in the South China Sea?

Yesterday, affected by the combined influence of "Trami" and cold air, gusts of 6 to 9 appeared in the eastern coastal areas of Fujian, eastern coastal areas of Zhejiang, coastal areas of Guangdong, central and southern Taiwan Island, etc. Heavy rain or rainstorms occurred in the eastern coastal areas of Zhejiang, Sansha, Hainan, northern and eastern Taiwan Island, and local heavy rainstorms occurred in Sansha, Hainan and Taipei, Taiwan.

Lu Jingjing, a senior engineer at Ningbo Meteorological Service Center, previously analyzed that the northern side of the typhoon "Trami" stirred up a large number of inverted trough clouds, which are a bit like the "growth" of the typhoon. They will flow into the coastal areas of East China along the typhoon circulation. Although the typhoon is far away from Zhejiang, it can deliver rainfall thousands of miles away through this mechanism.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from 14:00 on the 27th to 14:00 on the 28th, there will be heavy rain in the southern part of Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong, the coastal areas of Guangxi, most of Hainan Island, and some areas will have torrential rain (50 to 90 mm).

In addition, the center of this year's 21st typhoon "Connie" (tropical storm level) was located at 8 o'clock this morning (27th) on the northwestern Pacific Ocean about 1,430 kilometers east-southeast of Hualien City, Taiwan Province, with the maximum wind speed near the center reaching level 8 (18 meters/second).

It is expected that "Connie" will move westward at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. On the 29th, it will turn to the northwest and gradually approach the sea east of Taiwan Island. Its intensity will gradually increase, and it may reach the strongest typhoon level or super typhoon level (48 to 55 meters per second, 15 to 16 levels).

Starting from the 28th, under the combined influence of cold air and "Connie", there will be strong winds of 6 to 8 levels, with gusts of 9 levels, in the southern East China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, the sea east of Taiwan, and the Bashi Channel.

The double typhoon will bring strong winds and rains to the eastern and southern waters .
