What work scenarios will the new Google Glass be aimed at?

Beijing time, July 31, search giant Google is trying to find new ways to get people used to using smart glasses, as they believe consumers are more likely to accept such advanced devices in a work environment.

Google has distributed a new version of Glass to several companies, designed for use in work environments, particularly in healthcare, manufacturing, and energy. It looks different than the original Glass, and is no longer integrated into the frame, but can be attached to the other eye. The work version of the glasses comes with a battery pack and longer prisms, through which users can see digital images overlaid on their normal field of vision.

Google declined to comment.
Google Glass was launched in 2012, and the product, which was more gimmick than practical function, has sparked discussion. The built-in camera has given detractors of Google Glass a reason to claim that their privacy has been violated. Others are reluctant to wear the glasses because of their "strange" shape.
In the work version, Google hopes to put aside privacy and fashion issues. After all, work efficiency is the first priority. Although Google "paused" the glasses project in January, it has never stopped showing goodwill to work users. Since January 2014, Google has been recommending its Glass at Work project to various companies. For example, Google and Taco Bell have cooperated to test an app to help employees assemble.
Google has had setbacks with Glass, with Chris O'Neill, the project's lead, leaving Google to become CEO of Evernote, and other changes to the Glass team.
This past January, Google handed the Glass project over to Nest co-founder Tony Fadell, a former Apple executive and hardware guru who played a key role in the development of Apple's iPod and iPhone.
