On June 9, 2021, according to the China Passenger Car Association's Chinese auto sales data, Tesla's wholesale sales in May were 33,463 vehicles, up 202% year-on-year and nearly 30% month-on-month. At the same time, Tesla's cumulative domestic sales from January to May this year reached 128,588 vehicles.

It is worth mentioning that the export volume of the domestically produced Model 3 produced by Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory once again exceeded 10,000, reaching 11,527 units. In addition, the sales volume of Model Y in May reached 12,728 units.

Since the Shanghai Auto Show, Tesla has been mired in negative news, and industry insiders have also said that its sales may be affected, but judging from current statistics, Tesla's sales have not been greatly affected.

At the same time, the domestic new energy vehicle market as a whole also showed a good trend. According to statistics, the domestic retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 185,000 units in May, a year-on-year increase of 177.2% and a month-on-month increase of 17.4% from April.

In addition to the Chinese market, Tesla's sales performance in the European market is also satisfactory. According to statistics, Tesla's sales in the European market in April were only 1,244 vehicles, which increased to 9,143 vehicles in May.
